The aim of the LUB-NEX project is to build a regional network of institutions supporting the mobility of researchers and the internationalization of the academic environment in the Lubuskie Province. The project involves the integration of existing resources, the development of new services, and the promotion of the region as an attractive place for research and academic career development.

The project plans to:

Action 1: Building the capacity of institutions by developing the applicant's capacity to receive and serve researchers from abroad.

Task 1

Establishment of the LUB-NEX network, including the development of a network action strategy. Establishment of a regional NAWA-EURAXESS contact point at the University of Zielona Gora. Strengthening the scientific potential of the university through the activities of the LUB-NEX network in the area of international cooperation.

Task 2

Development of an information brochure “road map” concerning the service of project recipients (e.g., indication of existing units providing administrative services in the academic and social environment of the University of Zielona Gora).

Task 3

Organization of mentoring training for University of Zielona Gora employees who can serve as guides for researchers arriving from abroad.

Action 2: Building the capacity of the institution by improving the competences of the teaching, research, and administrative staff involved in the project.

Task 4

Conducting language courses for research, teaching, scientific, and administrative staff.

Organization of a soft skills course: networking and team building (psychological aspects, support techniques for establishing/initiating contacts) in scientific and international environments for project participants.

Action 3: Building institutional capacity by creating traditional information and promotional materials presenting the region, the network's activities, and its members.

Task 5

Development of traditional (electronic and printed) information leaflets containing presentations of network members, information about the region, the University, etc. Promotion through, among others, university social media (FB, website).

Action 4: Building institutional capacity by organizing and participating in training courses, meetings, and events organized in Poland and abroad.

Task 6

Organizing foreign and domestic delegations to institutions in the Euraxess network in order to exchange experiences and develop good practices for supporting the specific activities of the project (support for the arrival of researchers and their families).

Organization of a meeting dedicated mainly to researchers and their families who are already in Poland in order to obtain their opinions and information about the needs and problems encountered during the process of settling in the region and integrating into the academic community.

The meeting will include workshops supporting the project's recipients, e.g., with a lawyer (legal assistance), a person from the UZ recruitment department, the project department, etc.

Action 5: Building the potential of institutions through information and promotion activities carried out in Poland and abroad.

Task 7

Preparation of a media campaign concerning the offer of the Lubuskie Province network.

- Promotional and informational videos - social media,

- Placing information on the University website (NIUZ).

Task 8

Organization of regular meetings to present all institutions included in the network being built, specifying their scope of activity and the opportunities offered by participation in the network, along with promotion of the region as a place conducive to innovative science and cooperation.

Organization of foreign and domestic delegations for informational and promotional purposes to scientific institutions and entities supporting research and development (e.g., research centers).

The project will contribute to strengthening the scientific potential of the region and increasing its attractiveness on the international arena.

Target groups:

• teaching, research, and administrative staff of the University of Zielona Góra
• doctoral students and employees of institutions associated in the network
• scientists and family members from Poland and abroad
